Be a Champion Dad!

Dads are great, and to celebrate everything that they do Islington has a FREE programme of fun activities for local dads and their little ones aged five and under.

From swimming to cookery, craft and even brunch, join in the fun and celebrate fatherhood with the Champion Dad’s programme. There’s even the chance to get a free stadium and museum tour at Arsenal in March, if you attend two or more sessions!

Dads & Tots Swimming
These lessons focus on promoting early water confidence, basic motor skills, and introduce independent movement in a fun and friendly environment. An adult must accompany the child in the water.
When: Saturdays at 3.30pm-4.30 pm (17 and 24 February and 3, 10, 17 March)

Dig, Cook, Eat
Have fun in Central Street cookery school and edible yard – cooking and eating together, plus outdoor activities including planting, digging and feeding the worms!
When: Sundays at 10am-1pm (4, 11, 18 March)

Age: 3-5 (older children welcome, but priority given to those five and under)

Dad Stuff: Stress, Wellbeing & Mental Health
The Direct Action Project works with parent groups in Islington to increase awareness about mental health, including stress anxiety and how this relates to being a father. Find out more and pick up tips for looking after your own wellbeing.
For the first session on Saturday 24 Feb, have fun making puppets with your kids! Information about stress, anxiety, mental health and local support services will be available.
Happier dads = happier kids!

Dads’ Brunch Club
Calling all Dads! Do you want meet other Dads and make new friends? Are there questions you’d like to ask about bringing up your little one? If so, Dads Brunch Club is for you! Learn how to make music with your child, create toys, do storytelling, baby massage and lots more. A light lunch and healthy snacks will also be provided.

Dads Get Crafty!
Come and join this lovely, friendly team for dads and kids arts and crafts sessions. Celebrate Chinese New Year, where they will be embracing all things Dog related! Not only do you get to make your own canine creature to take away… you can then play with him in the garden we’ll make too! Alongside other crafty activities to keep all entertained. This is sure to be a fun day for the family to spend together.

First Aid for Dads
Learn vital first aid skills alongside fellow dads, to help care for your little one.
