The magic of giving

Hundreds of children in need across Islington will have a happier Christmas thanks to the generosity of people across the borough who bought them a gift.

The police’s annual Christmas Tree Project was launched earlier this week. Trees decorated with tags for each child were put up in Angel and Archway. Very quickly all the tags were taken and presents are already being handed in at police stations. One hundred tags alone were taken by The Toy Project, a Finsbury Park charity run by Jane Garfield. In total 650 children in need in Islington will receive a present.

Islington Council will distribute the presents to children in need in time for Christmas.

While all the presents have been bought, you can still take part by making a donation to the police’s Just Giving page.
