The Hargrave Hall Learning Fair

For people wanting to get up close and personal with a new skill, rather than a new partner. That’s the simple but compelling concept behind the Learning Fair being held for the first time in Archway in September.

It will give people the chance to meet and chat with teachers of everything from drumming to German, writing a memoir to learning amazing 17th century Italian papier-mâché techniques – all for free and with no obligation.

With 28 teachers/small organisations taking part, most offering demonstrations or taster workshops, there is something for everyone.

Have you tried out Hoola Hoop fitness? Jungle Running – that’s about toning and exercising in the woodlands with specially selected jungle, drum and bass music? Maybe you’ve heard of SwingTrain? They run workout classes using the energetic sounds of Charleston, Swing and Jazz. Perhaps you are more interested in yoga and tai chi. Your chance to try find out more, or rekindle your former passion.

Artists will be demonstrating sculpture, drawing and mosaics. Talk to them about the techniques and tools, and find out about their courses and workshops.

So, put Saturday 9 September in your diary, drop in between 11am and 4pm for a coffee and a chat. This is a free event. Hargrave Hall is very close to Archway tube station and the top end of Holloway Road.
