Car Free Day in Islington
Imagine a city with fewer cars and more places for people. Places for sitting and playing, plants and bikes. This Car Free Day, Islington is turning some parking bays into parklets – places for people, not cars.
Traveling by car is the most polluting way to get around. In fact, pollution can be twice as high inside your car than outside. Moving towards cleaner travel, like walking, cycling and public transport, will improve air quality for everyone and create more space on our streets for people and communities, not cars.
Saturday 22 September will see parklets popping up across the borough. Find out if there is one near you.
Mayton Street, Holloway
