Chapel Market summer specials

Grab your sunglasses and head to the Angel for a series of special themed events taking place at Chapel Market this summer.
Joining the existing regular stallholders, including the popular Sunday farmers’ market, a mix of live entertainment, guest vendors and special attractions will aim to introduce the next generation of street traders to one of London’s best-known outdoor markets.
On Sunday 17 July from 10am to 3pm, the food and health festival will welcome guest chefs for live cookery demonstrations, only using ingredients available in the market. Visitors will then be able to take the recipes home and try them, using a series of free recipe cards that will be available throughout the day.
Junior master chefs will also have a chance to try their hand in the pizza workshop, while all the family can take part in the family food trail with free prizes.
Make sure you leave some room for lunch, as the market will have lots of street food and drinks, with flavours from around the world.
It’s the animals turn on Saturday 6 August from 11am to 4pm, as the market transforms for the furry friends and family fete. There will be a petting farm for children and specialist stalls for pet supplies and expert advice. The council will also award best in show at the Chapel Market Dog Show, with categories including best waggy tail and fancy dress (dog and owner!).
Rounding off the summer, the first Chapel Market Music Festival will take place on Saturday 3 September from 11am to 7pm. Throughout the day, there will be fantastic live music from local musicians and buskers, as well as great food and drink being served into the early evening. Kids will also have a chance for a min festival experience with face painting, glitter tattoos and hair braiding stalls.
If you’d like to get involved with Chapel Market this summer and take a stall at one of the events – or if you would like more information – please contact Sally Williams on 07889 173101.
