Learn about Islington’s LGBTQ+ history on a guided walk or get cooking: 8 and 24 June
Pride Month guided walk
Sunday 8 June, 3pm
Meet at Angel tube station, Islington High Street, N1 9LQ
Discover 50 years of LGBTQ+ history in Islington on a guided walk with an official City of London and Islington Guide. Learn about the UK’s first gay mayor, LGBT rights demonstration and MP. Stop off at points of interest on a walk from Angel tube station to Highbury Fields.
Provided by charity forum+, this walk is free and open to anyone aged 18 and over.
Rainbow Streets: Then and Next
Union Chapel has partnered with neighbours the Estorick Collection this Pride Month, on an exhibition of artwork co-produced by local students, inspired by remarkable LGBTQ+ people, organisations and movements throughout history.
Exhibits will be hung from the ceiling of Union Chapel’s beautiful Grade II listed Upper Hall. While you wander, listen to a soundtrack of songs by LGBTQ+ artists, which were chosen by the public.
Public viewing dates are 17 and 24 June, 1–2pm. It’s free to visit, but tickets must be booked in advance:

The exhibition is part of the church’s Sunday School Stories Project, which supports young people to tell stories and express themselves through the arts.
Cooking with Pride
Tuesday 24 June, 6pm
St Luke’s Community Centre, 90 Central Street, EC1V 8AJ
Learn how to prepare and cook delicious Japanese cuisine in a fun, low-pressure environment, then sit down to enjoy it as a group. For this Pride Month special, participants are encouraged to wear rainbow colours and submit their favourite Pride anthems to an event playlist to cook along to!
This event is free to join and suitable for ages 18 and over. Six spaces are reserved for LGBTQ+ members of St Luke’s Community Centre and can be booked directly by contacting St Luke’s. Six spaces are reserved for forum+, the charity host of Cooking with Pride. Forum’s activities, events and social support groups are for people who live, study, work or access services in Islington or Camden.
