Covid Safe – Crisis charity shop and coffee bar
Crisis charity shop and coffee bar is a welcoming hub for Finsbury Park residents who love to shop locally – and those who come from further afield – to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and buy preloved clothes, books and homewares. Located in Stroud Green Road, the shop complements an array of unique independent shops, including vintage and mid-century homewares at Mosey Home, and beautiful gifts at the Pretty Shiny Shop.
Crisis charity shop has joined Islington council’s Covid Safe Business initiative, and is also featured in the council’s Shop Local campaign, supporting our high streets and independent businesses.
Esther Phelpotts, shop manager at Crisis Finsbury Park, is happy to welcome shoppers and coffee lovers back indoors, where they can be confident of a safe environment:
“We are really happy to have completed the COVID-secure premises check. People’s health must be put first, and this provides assurances that shops and businesses are getting it right.
Nowadays, charity shops can provide a vital presence and energy on our high streets. With creative window displays, affordable clothes and even luxury goods at everyday prices, they play an important part in their local economy. As Esther says:
“Shopping local and using local services is essential to keeping our high streets alive and flourishing, so it’s vital we all play our part to keep open after a very hard year for everyone.”
As well as helping to fund the vital work of Crisis across the UK, Crisis shops also create jobs and provide training for homeless people. They help people find the confidence and skills to rebuild their lives, and engage local communities in their mission to end homelessness for good.
