Pulling together to end loneliness this winter
Christmas should be a time for connection but for many in Islington, it can feel lonely. That’s why Islington Giving is bringing people together with its festive Angel Crackers campaign.
100% of proceeds from each cracker helps fund projects tackling isolation and supporting local people who need a friendly face and a helping hand. From community meals to social activities, your support makes a real difference.
Why it matters
“Loneliness can affect anyone, and the holidays can be especially hard,” says Sarah Benioff, CEO at Islington Giving. “Angel Crackers are a simple way to spread joy.”
Volunteer Nikita Johal, who helped make crackers this year, adds:
“It’s amazing to know something so small can make such a big difference. You’re not just buying a cracker – you’re helping someone feel less alone.”
How it works
Each cracker is handmade by volunteers and filled with thoughtful surprises. They’re perfect for your festive table and every purchase helps fund projects that bring people together and offer vital support. From creating safe spaces for those who feel isolated, to inclusive food co-ops that connect neighbours, and practical help like secure storage for people experiencing homelessness, your cracker makes a real difference.
