Islington launches Family Hubs
Have your say on new one-stop shop support services for families
Families with children of all ages were thrilled to meet the mayor at a recent fun day at New River Green Children’s Centre and Rose Bowl Youth Centre, for the launch of Family Hub Central, the first hub in Islington.
Family Hubs bring together lots of different services for children and families to make a single ‘front door’, making it easier for families to get the help they need at the right time. They offer help and support to families, from pregnancy up until age 19 (or 25 for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)), providing a welcoming and inclusive way into services, removing the need to explain more than once, to multiple people, what you need support with.
Parents, carers and young people are encouraged to get involved to help shape the three hubs, which will be available across the North, Central and South localities by April 2025.
The next Family Hub event will be on Saturday 4 November for Family Hub South, at Bemerton Centre. Look out for further information.
