Measles is a serious illness and can spread easily to others. It can cause hearing loss, pneumonia, blindness, brain swelling and, in rare cases, death.

Around 1 in 5 children who catch measles end up in hospital.

• Book your free MMR/MMRV vaccine with your GP today – it’s never too late
• Children can get catch-up vaccines at local Vaccination UK clinics – visit www.schoolvaccination.uk/catch-up-clinics

Have you or your child missed a dose? Check their Red Book or ask your GP.

Know the symptoms

• Starts like a cold, with a fever and red eyes
• A bumpy rash then appears (pictured)
• Sometimes there will be small white spots inside the mouth
