Playground equipment for disabled children

If you have a child with a disability, in Islington, there are outdoor playground facilities for the whole family to enjoy. These include:
- Basket swings that are shallower than traditional bucket swings, making it easier for children to get in and out of
- Flush roundabouts which have enough room for two regular wheelchairs or one larger, power assisted chair. They also have seating with back support for those children who may require extra assistance
There are currently 16 basket swings dotted around the borough and flush roundabouts in nine parks, listed below:
- Archway Park
- Astey’s Row
- Dartmouth Park
- Highbury Fields
- King Square Gardens
- Kinloch Street
- Morton Road
- Newington Green
- Paradise Park
- Pemberton Gardens
- Radnor Street Gardens
- Tufnell Park Playing Fields
- Whittington Park
These playground facilities are designed to ensure that all children, no matter what their ability, can engage in and enjoy outdoor play.
Visit Islington Council’s website to find out more about the opening and closing times of each park.
