Islington markets: Whitecross Street Market

Located between Old Street and Fortune Street in the south of the borough, Whitecross Street Market is one of the oldest markets in London.
Alongside stalls selling clothes, handcrafted jewellery and household items, the market has become a hotspot for street food, with one of its stall holders, Chalang Rashid, picking up an award for Market Trader of the Year 2021.
You’ll find delicious food from all over the world, including Chalangs’ award winning Kurdish Takeaway, Korean bibimbap, burritos, fresh pizza and much more. It’s the perfect place to indulge in at lunchtime.
Shoppers are encouraged to bring their own bags and food containers to help keep the market sustainable and reduce waste locally.
