Youth safety events: Easter

After the launch of the new Youth Safety Strategy, Islington Council met with local children and young people to create a programme of exciting activities for all ages to develop confidence, feel safe and get advice and support this spring. All activities are free and include workshops, an escape room, sports, a cooking challenge, a film night, connecting with nature, gaming and more.

Football Tournament / Safety Workshops

Football tournament with safety focused workshops and stalls from local support services.  

Film Night and Youth Q and A

Film screening of Lollipop with a youth led Q and A featuring actress Idil Ahmed.

Monday night football

Monday nights throughout April and May, 8-10pm
Barnard Park football pitch, Copenhagen Street, N1  

The Copenhagen Youth Project invite young people aged 16–25 from across Islington and Camden to take part in a 10week community football league, offering regular competitive matches for groups who don’t usually have access to formal sport.

Positive Citizens

The Underground Youth Centre

Positive Citizens offers two fun, hands on activity days for young people aged 8–13, featuring positive message bracelet making in Paradise Park and a trip to the Castle Climbing Centre and Woodberry Wetlands to explore safety and caring for the local environment. 

Safe Space Gaming Hub

A structured gaming hub for young people aged 14–19, offering safe, supervised sessions with organised PS5 tournaments that build teamwork, positive peer relationships and online safety.

Escape London
An escaperoom and dinner experience for young women aged 16–25, combining team challenges with a practical discussion on staying safe, building confidence and strengthening peer connections.

A twoday programme for young people aged 15–21, featuring workshops on knifecrime awareness, mental health and employment pathways, followed by an indoor 6aside football tournament.
